The FFCP Internship Program accepts student interns for the academic year, which begins in the fall and concludes in the spring semester. Applications for fall enrollment must be submitted before the August start date to ensure all interns begin the program simultaneously.

FFCP is an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC) started by experienced mental health professionals who together have over 40 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our vision is to promote wellness and recovery in the treatment of mental illness, behavioral health problems, and emotional concerns.

FFCP Interns receive exposure to: • Experience in MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING and SOCIAL WORK • Virtual and In-Person community counseling • Short and long term counseling • Crisis intervention and risk assessment • Work with diverse populations- BIPOC, immigrant/refugees, veterans, first generation, LGBTQ+, and clients with varied socio-economic, age, and abilities. FFCP Interns receive: • Weekly individual supervision and monthly group supervision provided by a licensed mental health counselor or social worker, approved by the respective Maryland State Board• Maintain a manageable caseload of a maximum of 10 clients and required clinical electronic documentation• Exposure to various therapeutic approaches• Monthly professional trainings. Additionally, interns must engage with an LGPC or LGSW intern liaison for additional support throughout the internship process. FFCP is a community based service provider. Clinicians serve and meet with clients in the community, in the office, and virtually. Based on the requirements of your current academic program, please check the boxes of the settings you are allowed to meet with clients.(Required)

The internship program requires a 1-year commitment to serve the clients at FFCP.
