Beginning March 1, 2022, refills will only be provided to patients during medication appointments with prescribers. Appointments can be video telehealth, audio telehealth, or in-person in the office. The in-person option is only with Dr. Christiansen at this time. Frequency of appointments is dependent on the type of medication prescribed. Patients prescribed controlled substances (such as benzodiazepines, buprenorphine and stimulants) will need a monthly appointment. Patients prescribed medications that permit refills will need to be seen by their prescriber at least once every three months. Prescribers will assess on an individual basis whether an emergency refill is appropriate for a patient who had an appointment within 30 days of the request. Evening audio telehealth appointments are available with Dr. Christiansen for urgent refill requests. Patients requesting new prescriptions must be seen for an appointment, because it generally requires a telehealth or office visit.
Prescription refills outside of a scheduled appointment is a courtesy service provided when appropriate and indicated. For a refill on your prescription in-between appointments please follow the instructions below.
